New Year’s Evil Special: Our Friend Darren

Welcome back to a Wildmoore High! We have gotten the cast of season one back together for a little holiday special. How's everyone doing?

 

Ashley:

April:

Kenzie:

There we go. It’s crazy. It's been a little over a year since we last recorded the finale of season one, so a bit since we've had a second with these characters and I'm super excited to dive back in. So, to begin, why don't we introduce ourselves just in case anyone’s new and hasn't listened to season one yet. We're not keeping this spoiler free; this will take place right after the end of season one. Probably won't be delving too deeply into everything in this one, so if you haven't heard the rest and just want a fun little Monsterhearts one shot you should have a lot of fun. For everyone who does know Wildmoore, well, you'll be seeing a bunch of familiar faces for the continuation of our story.

 

Well, let us begin. I do want to give a short recap of our first season to set the mood a little bit here. Over the last five months, he house kids, Ivy, Sawyer, and Caleb, have been dealing with ruling family disloyalty and upheaval. A town they thought they knew so well turning on them in the blink of an eye. It all started with the murder of Ryan Bishop, which led to a mystery that brought the things that hid in the dark to light. The veil that protected Wildmoore for so many years began to break down, and a shadow creature emerged haunting the three families. Ivy's fathers and the curse set upon them, the hook family, infidelity bringing them to ruin - though also giving us the fourth and unexpected house kid, Farrow.

 

Ashley:

Hi.

 

Everyone:

(laughter)

 

Mads:

Hi.

 

Kenzie (MC):

And for the Moore’s, devastatingly, losing one of their own. With the vanquishing of the shadow creature the veil around Wildmoore completely dissolved and the house kids stepped up to create a new treaty, an agreement between the families on how best to protect Wildmoore. Only a few weeks since the signing of this new treaty, the Christmas holidays come and gone, and whatever discontent there may have been originally, when Ivy had to spread the word that the Duncan’s would not be hosting New Year's Eve - her father's more strict than they ever had been about who was let into their home, doing what they could to protect their daughter from a yet unseen foe - had completely disappeared, all of those discontents had completely disappeared because Darren delivered. But that wasn't really a surprise to anyone. Darren always delivered. And some people, though hesitant to ever admit it in the vicinity of Ivy Duncan, might say he rivaled her. Granted the house wasn't as big as Blackthorn Manor, but no house in Wildmoore was really. But it more than took care of the job. A house on the Moore property far from Caleb's family home, almost swallowed by the tree line, that was perfectly up to snuff from the job. And why wouldn't it be a Moore house? Caleb and Darren had been two peas in a pod since they were kids, practically the third brother.

 

It's 10:30. Only an hour and a half left until the new year. The party is in full swing. The house is packed wall to wall, you have to squeeze your way through the throng of people to get where you want to go. You’ve bumped into Naia. You handed off Sam to Jordan. Alina is around somewhere though a wide birth is being given. You saw White Widow at the base of the staircase blunt in hand, though Sour Diesel wasn't by her side like usual. It seems like everyone is here, not a single kid in Wildmoore would want to miss a Darren party.

 

Sawyer, in the kitchen an arm is thrown around you.

 

Kenzie (Darren):

Dude, I'm so glad you came!

  Brennan (Sawyer Hook):

Oh, yeah, I'm so happy to be at a party… again.

 

Kenzie (MC):




It's loud you have to like shout over the bumping music party to be heard –

 

Brennan (Sawyer):

I’m so happy to be at a party!

 

Kenzie (MC):

Or do what Darren is doing and just so close, talking directly into your ear. You could feel his hot breath against your skin.

 

Brennan (Sawyer):

Ugh, so, hey, what have you been eating?

 

Kenzie (Darren):

Oh, does my breath smell? Because like they got those –

 

Brennan (Sawyer):

No.

 

Kenzie (Darren):

- sour cream and cheddar chips.

 

Brennan (Sawyer):

Oh yeah, I uh-

 

Kenzie (Darren):

Someone told me that they’re - like oh they're so good but somebody did tell me that they kind of like tasted like ass, which, you know, is interesting to tell somebody something tastes like because then I have more questions of like, why do you know what ass tastes like, you know?

 

Brennan (Sawyer):

Wow what a valid point, um…

 

Kenzie (Darren):




Um…

 

April (Ivy Duncan):

Sawyer!

 

Brennan (Sawyer):

And well, yeah? Yeah!

 

April (Ivy):

Sawyer! Where the fuck are you?

 

Brennan (Sawyer):

Yes, Ivy.

 

Kenzie (Darren):

Ivy, Ivy over here!

 

Brennan (Sawyer):

I’m over here!

 

April (Ivy):

Oh my god, Jesus Christ, I can barely move in here. Darren, why do you feel like a taco truck?

 

Kenzie (MC):




You see that Darren is wearing… like honestly just like if you thought of any nondescript like late-teenage dude. So like jeans, just plain colored shirt, Converse probably. Just very like could blend into the crowd but everybody knows who he is type of vibe. You walk into this kitchen and you see Darren arm still over Sawyer. Sawyer what does Ivy see, what are are you wearing to this New Year's Eve party?

 

Brennan:

Sawyer is in a like very long blue trench coat with a collar that's popped up and a white almost like equestrian shirt, that's like very soft, almost silk-like, that has no collar and is unbuttoned like two or three times. And then some like MC Hammer pants that are orange and then I think he might be experimenting with sandals and socks.

 

April:




(laughs)

 

Kenzie (MC):

 

So sandals in like December somewhere in kind of maybe vaguely the Midwest.

 

Brennan:

But like with thick like fuzzy socks, you know? Like they have foxes on them.

 

Kenzie (MC):




Vibes. Gotcha. Okay.

 

Ashley:




Caleb, that's your man.

 

Mads:




I love him so much (crying).

 

Kenzie (MC):

In turn, as Ivy enters the kitchen and sees Darren’s arm like tugging Sawyer into his side like a bro hug, what is Ivy wearing?

 

April:




Ivy is wearing a silver sequin mini dress with like a square kind of tank top neckline and she's also wearing dark gray tights that have silver threads running through them and little like high heeled silver loafers.

 

Kenzie (Darren):

Ivy! You know, I'm so glad that you showed up to my party, it would be so great for you to do it without throwin’ insults at me.

 

April (Ivy):

Darren, I don't do anything without throwing insults. You can ask Sawyer.

 

Kenzie (Darren):

I know. Anyways it's not tacos, it's those - it's those cheddar sour cream chips. And I know - I shouldn't have eatin’ them but they’re so good. They’re so good.

 

Brennan:




Sawyer takes out a bunch of orange Tic Tacs.

 

April (Ivy):




Yeah, they’re really killing your vibe.

Brennan (Sawyer):




I just kind of keep these – they’re the orange ones so it's more like candy but it's less for your like your breath but orange and sour cream.

 

Kenzie (Darren):

Like orange? Is it orange? Is it mango? Is it like actually lemon?

 

Brennan (Sawyer):

I'm not entirely sure.

 

April (Ivy):

It’s an orange Tic Tac.

 

Kenzie (Darren):




It doesn’t matter.

 

Kenzie (MC):

Takes them out of Sawyer's hand and then like tries to, but they're Tic Tacs, but they start falling so like tries to catch them, and then like shoves them into his mouth in a way that just is quite gross actually.

 

Brennan (Sawyer):

Oh, um…

 

April:

Ivy definitely like looks at him in disgust, openly.

 

April (Ivy):

I don’t think that’s going to do anything. You have like sour cream coming out of your pores so I just don't think orange Tic Tacs are gonna do anything.

 

Kenzie (Darren):

I guess I just, I didn't bring a fucking toothbrush, so I don't know what you want me to do. This is the best job we’ve got.

 

Kenzie (MC):




And Ivy, you know, it annoys you to all ends that Darren always just has some sort of food smell coming off of him, but, you know, Darren has always had a food smell coming off of him and  that’s weirdly what maybe is a little bit endearing about him. It’s normal. It’s familiar.

Brennan (Sawyer):

I was thinking about doing something else than what I'm currently doing.

 

April (Ivy):

Perfect. Love other things. Let's go.

 

April:




And then Ivy just grabs Sawyer’s wrist and with no explanation to Darren.

 

Kenzie (Darren):

Aww man, come on guys!

 

Brennan (Sawyer):

Oh my god that was so horrible.

 

Kenzie (MC):

And you see that swiftly, upon your absence, other kids kind of swarm around Darren, and he acts around them as he has around you just like - Darren is like the best friend to everybody. He's one of the most popular kid in school, he just like really socially gets - is such like an outgoing guy. Get’s along with everybody. Is a thumbs up guy.

 

Everyone:

(laughing)




Brennan:




What is going on!?

 

Ashley:

It's the power of Darren.

 

Kenzie:

So, here’s the funny thing with this. So fireworks – for the people listening to this podcast, fireworks just went off behind me. The funny thing about this is that on our season three Zoom calls, I went like this and hearts appeared – Oh, it’s doing it here too!

 

Mads:

Whaaaa, whoa!

 

Kenzie:




I did not know that could happen on Zoom. I now, did not know that could happen on Riverside so… and I’m apparently like the only one who could do it, so I don't really –

 

Ashley:




You’re the chosen one. You’re the chosen one.

 

Kenzie:




I don't really know what the vibes are on that. I'm not trying to initiate this. But we'll do fireworks again, I guess.

 

April:

Oh my god!

 

Brennan:

The power of Darren.

 

Kenzie:




Literally have no idea when this started on either of these programs.

 

Mads:




Stop gatekeeping firework react from us.

 

Kenzie:

If I could turn it off on either place I would. I don't know how to turn it off.

 

Ashley:

We're all too ADD for this to be a thing. Oooooh, shiny.

 

Mads:

There’s a bit of movement from the screen we're not expecting and we’re like –

 

Everyone:

(laughs)

  Mh5>Kenzie:

I truly – I don't even know where to begin.

 

April:

 

So people are swarming around Darren because he's very popular and famous and we've known him for years.

 

Kenzie (MC):




Yeah! So as people kind of swarm Darren and he starts pouring drinks for people, you exit the kitchen with Sawyer, where are you guys headed?

 

April (Ivy):

Where's your boyfriend?

 

Brennan (Sawyer):

I have no idea that's why I was in the kitchen just alone and it wasn't just the breath that smelled it was like the forearm, all the way through, you know?

 

April (Ivy):

That's what I mean. Like it comes out of his skin. Like he smells like the bottom of a chip bag. Like on his clothes, like his hair, like all of him.

 

Brennan (Sawyer):




Yeah, there was a layer of -

 

April (Ivy):

But I’m telling you what –

 

Brennan (Sawyer):

- slime.

 

April (Ivy):




- like vampire smell, way, way stronger. It's way worse to me.

 

Mads (Caleb Moore):

Are you talking about Darern’s chip smell?

 

Brennan (Sawyer):




Oh god.

 

April (Ivy):

Yes!

 

Mads:

Behind you, without any other notice, Caleb is just like standing there between the two of you, with an empty red solo cup.

 

Kenzie (MC):

And what does Caleb look like right now? What is he wearing?

 

Mads:

Caleb is wearing his how can I blend into the wallpaper more look. Which is a pair of black jeans, a little bit distressed around the knees. He has decided to play it up a bit and so he has a chain wallet now. So he's got that that really cool looking chain. He’s wearing beats to shit high tops. He's wearing an oversized hoodie over top of the everything and the text on the hoodie says, “Do not disturb” and then it has a little picture of like a mic that has like the cancel like line through it. And he's just standing there with his empty cup.

 

Brennan:




Sawyer has poked that mic like five or six times already this night.

 

Mads:

Every time it happens, anyone in the vicinity would hear Caleb sigh, but if they actually look at him, his eyes do roll but there’s a little bit of a smile there.

 

Brennan (Sawyer):

Oh well, thank God that we found you, or you found us. I have been sitting in that kitchen –

 

Mads (Caleb):




Found you?

 

Brennan (Sawyer):

- or standing in that kitchen for like seven minutes.

 

Mads (Caleb):

Sawyer you were supposed to get us drinks.

  

April (Ivy):

Well, he couldn’t because Darren was breathing in his eardrum.

 

Mads (Caleb):

Yeah, he does that a lot but it's just Darren.

 

Brennan (Sawyer):

I forgot to get drinks.

 

Mads (Caleb):

I can see that.

 

Brennan (Sawyer):

I walked into another room and I was overwhelmed.

 

April (Ivy):

I will get us drinks. You two stay here I don't trust Darren around, you guys. Okay, let's… bye. Bye!

 

Brennan (Sawyer):

Okay, see ya.

 

Mads (Caleb):

Bye?

 

Kenzie (MC):

Ivy walks back into the kitchen, I assume? That's where the drinks are?

 

April:

Mm-hmm. And I see this like large group of people all surrounding Darren.

 

Kenzie (MC):

You see those, you know, like the red solo cups, but they're the shot versions of them. You see them like empty, just like thrown, tossed. There are some standing upright, some falling over, rolling across the counter as obviously a round of shots has just been taken.

 

April:




I like kind of tip toe around the crowd.

 

April (Ivy):

Eww. Excuse me, excuse me. Ew, okay.

 

Kenzie (Darren):

Ivy you’re back. Thank God!

 

April (Ivy):

I wasn't gone for very long, Darren.

 

Kenzie (Darren):

I mean, I missed you, man.

 

April (Ivy):

I guess I missed you to, dude. Um, do you have any liquor here that doesn't taste like strawberry lemonade?

 

Kenzie (Darren):

Yeah, also, I do have some fun flavored seltzers in the fridge in case Sawyer doesn't want to drink tonight.

 

April (Ivy):




Awe, cute, that's actually really sweet, Darren, thanks.

 

Kenzie (Darren):

Yeah, man, like I'm not gonna -  Sawyer told me all about that shit, I don't wanna to make him feel comfortable so yeah, non-alcoholic seltzers in the fridge. Um… I don't have – Ivy, I don’t have what you're used to, but I have some stuff that's not shit, okay? What are you looking for?

 

April:

Ivy rolls her eyes and she's like,

 

April (Ivy):

Literally something that just isn't flavored would be fine at this point.

 

Kenzie (Darren):

Okay, well I’m keeping the champagne for closer to the to midnight, okay? But I’ve got like some top shelf vodka hidden around here. Is that what you – is that okay? Is that what you would like?

 

April (Ivy):

Yes, yes, Darren. That is okay.

 

Kenzie (Darren):

Okay, chill the fuck out. Alright, can you –

 

April (Ivy):

Sorry.

 

Kenzie (Darren):

Can you like – I mean I know you can, but will you like distract all these people so I can grab it without them noticing?

 

April (Ivy):

Yeah totally, one second.

 

Kenzie (Darren):

Okay, cool.

 

April (Ivy):

Wait is this music playing on your phone?

 

Kenzie (Darren):

Yeah, do you need it on yours?

 

April (Ivy):

No, no, just give me your phone.

 

Kenzie (Darren):

Uhhhh, I don’t think –

 

April (Ivy):

Darren –

 

Kenzie (Darren):

Listen, listen.

 

April (Ivy):

- give me your phone.

 

Kenzie (Darren):

If you change the playlist I'm gonna be so mad.

 

April (Ivy):

I will add one song to queue and you will have one song to go get this vodka for us.

 

Kenzie (MC):

Slowly pulls the phone out of the tight, tight pocket of his skinny and hands it over to you, and watching you the entire time.

 

Kenzie (Darren):

One song.

 

April:

Ivy goes to Spotify, types in Kim Petras, and t puts on “XXX” and then she's like okay, escape, press play, it'll all be good.

 

Kenzie (Darren):

Thank you okay. Bow, pa chhh, got it.

 

April:




And then she climbs up onto the counter and starts dancing in front of everyone. And she lets out like a huge like,

 

April (Ivy):




Whooo!

 

April:

Because she knows people love that shit.

 

Kenzie (MC):

At about this time, I would say that through the hallway, where Sawyer and Caleb are, you can kind of like see into the kitchen and you watch this happen as Ivy said she was going to go get drinks and now she's on the countertop. And also almost as like what Caleb did to Ivy and Sawyer, you hear,

 

Kenzie (Sam Marshall):

Ah, she looks hot tonight.

 

Mads:

Without any reaction I like just turn my head to the side a little bit. I know it's Sam.

 

Mads (Caleb):

She's doing the whoo girl thing, everyone loves that. You’re not having regrets are you?

 

Kenzie (Sam):




Uh, no, no not at all. No! Really, truly not. I was just making an observation.

 

Mads (Caleb):




Where’s Jordan? Yeah, I mean, objectively so… hot.

 

Kenzie (MC):




And then you hear another voice,

 

Kenzie (Kai):

Hey, guys.

  

Kenzie (MC):

This time is it Kai.

 

Mads:

I turn the whole way.

 

Brennan (Sawyer):

Uh, hi Kai.

 

Mads (Caleb):




Hi, Kai.

 

Mads:

I turn back.

 

Kenzie (MC):




And that's all she says and she just watches her girlfriend do a whole performance on the countertop in the kitchen. And Sam is just like looking at Kai, being like like,

 

Kenzie (Sam):




Yeah, so that's pretty cool!

 

Brennan (Sawyer):

Yeah, Kai, it’s the whoo thing.

 

Kenzie (Sam):

That’s pretty cool!

 

April:

Ivy had her hair in like a half-up and she takes the ponytail holder out of her half-up and like shakes her hair out and then she takes one of the not knocked over shot glasses and like raises it in the air and she like sticks her tongue out and screams, and then she takes the shot and she like launches the hair tie into the crowd.

 

Kenzie (MC):

I want you to make a Turn Someone On Move here but like en masse, you know so…

 

April:




Perfect.

 

Brennan:




First roll! First roll.

 

Kenzie (MC):




Roll 2d6 plus your hot.

 

Mads (Caleb):

Now watch she's gonna do this thing with her hip right now, they're gonna go nuts.

 

April:

My hot is two and I rolled a nine, so I got an eleven.

 

Brennan:




God.

 

Kenzie (MC):




Oooo, insane. Okay.

 

Ashley:

Jesus




Mads:




Do they go nuts for the hip thing?

 

Kenzie (MC):

Every single person in this party, you get to string on. Like there's not a person here you could not influence in some way.

 

April:




Perfect.

 

Kenzie (MC):




Sam goes,

 

Kenzie (Sam):




Wow.

 

Kenzie (MC):

And then Kai goes,

 

Kenzie (Kai):

The hip thing is kind of yeah, a crowd pleaser.

 

Brennan (Sawyer):

It’s kinda yeah.

 

Kenzie (Kai):

Yeah.

 

Ashley:

Whatever room Darren had to sneak off to grab the alcohol, Farrow is already in it, in there.

 

Kenzie (MC):

There's like this off side room that looks like it used to be like an office of sorts but like probably isn't used that way anymore. Like there's some bookshelves and like dresser type of things in here that could like hold any assortment of objects and books and files and type of things. But it doesn't really look like it's been in a lot of use anymore. But there is a specific like larger one-door cabinet and Darren comes in and walks like straight towards that, like almost like doesn't even notice that you're here. And so like walk straight towards that, pulls it open and you see that it is just like rack to rack of bottles of liquor that are not like as expensive as you've seen in the Duncan house but like better than just the UV Blue that's sitting on the counter.

 

Ashley:

Yeah, as soon as Darren like walked in the room Farrow just like froze and is just like tracking him with their eyes, just kind of like are they going to notice me, do I have to talk to this person. Shit, shit, shit, shit.

 

Kenzie (MC):

Back turned to you, you hear,

 

Kenzie (Darren):

Yo, Farrow, you bring Beauregard tonight?

 

Ashley (Farrow Smith):

Uh, yeah.

 

Kenzie (Darren):

Let me see the little buddy!

 

Ashley:




So, Beauregard is currently out trying to steal someone’s wallet. It’s a new trick that Farrow’s trying to teach him. He's got his little like vest on, you know? That has the little bat wings on it, so he's obviously not just like a wild rat. Like if people see him they’ll know it's a pet, I better not kick it. But Farrow looks at Darren and they go,

 

Ashley (Farrow):




Yeah, he's taking a potty break right now. He's in the backyard. I'll be sure to bring them round to you when he’s done doing his business.

 

Brennan (Sawyer):




Caleb, have you see my wallet?

 

Kenzie:

Farrow would know, as well, that Darren loves Beauregard. There are – you get a thumbs up for that! Darren loves Beauregard and on all of his party invites, it literally says, “If anyone harms the little rat, you’re dead to me.” So you feel more comfortable letting Beauregard run around because Darren has been so nice to Beauregard the whole time.

 

Ashley:

He’s made this a safe space and I think that's what really made for a warm up to Darren quicker than they did like some of the other house kids, you know? Because, you know, estranged brother, scary vamp girl, scary werewolf boy, and then there’s Darren. He’s just like a dude, you know? So it was easier to, I think, click with him.

 

Kenzie (MC):




That’s his… that’s his tagline. Darren, I'm just a dude.

 

Ashley:

Just a dude.

 

Brennan:

Ah, just a dude.

Kenzie (MC):




And he’s like,

 

Kenzie (Darren):




Ah, okay, well, you know, if I see him, I’ll give him little scritches.

 

Ashley (Farrow):




Yeah, yeah of course. Do you need help bring anything out?

 

Kenzie (Darren):

No, Ivy just wants something that is better than, you know, shit. Which I get. I also would like stuff better than the shift.

 

Ashley (Farrow):

Yeah, that’s fair.

 

Kenzie (Darren):

So I’m just bringing her some like vodka.

 

Ashley (Farrow):

Nice. Nice. I'll head back out then. I kinda just came in here to center myself. Definitely wasn’t doing anything illicit.

 

Kenzie (Darren):

Farrow, take your time. Do whatever you need! My house is your house.

 

Ashley (Farrow):

Cool, cool, cool, cool, cool.

 

Kenzie (Darren):

Mi casa y tu casa.

 

Ashley (Farrow):

Gracias.

 

Mads (Caleb):




Did you leave your wallet in your other parachute pants?

 

Brennan (Sawyer):

Ahhh, I’m pretty sure I brought it here. No, I had it when I came in.

                                                                                    

Mads (Caleb):

When was the last time you had it?

 

Brennan (Sawyer):

In the kitchen. I was rummaging through it…

 

Mads (Caleb):

Kitchen? It could be in the kitchen. I mean Ivy had everyone distracted right now if you want to go see.

 

Brennan (Sawyer):

Yeah, I guess, I just opened it because I didn't have anything else to do and so I stared at my credit card for like 4 1/2 minutes.

 

Mads (Caleb):

The one with your mom’s name on it? Yeah.

 

Brennan (Sawyer):

Yeah. I’m gonna go check the kitchen.

 

Ashley:

As Farrow heads back out with Darren, Beauregard is dragging a little wallet and Farrow is currently wearing these like black denim cargo pants and so what Beauregard does is just like crawls into one of the many large pockets on it and deposits whatever they grabbed. And so Farrow kind of like sorts through, throughout the night. But they’re just going to follow Darren back out now.

 

Mads (Caleb):




No, so what I'm trying to say is that whenever you try and start up a platformer usually it goes to a loading screen of some sort and Sam had this idea that instead of having the loading screen, that you would immediately load into the trial run, so like the tutorial area –

 

Kenzie (Kai):




Hey, Caleb? Caleb?

 

Mads (Caleb):

Yeah?

 

Kenzie (Kai):

I don’t fucking care.

 

Mads (Caleb):

(sighs) Of course you don’t. It’s not like you have anything else to care about. So, sam, where’ Jordan?

 

Kenzie (Sam):

Oh, yeah, I just needed like… I just - I don't know! She's around.

 

Mads (Caleb):

She’s around? Did you lose her?

 

Kenzie (Sam):

No, I deliberately left.

 

Mads (Caleb):

Wait, back up, you deliberately left?

 

Kenzie (Sam):

Correct.

 

Mads (Caleb):

Did you tell Jordan that you were leaving? Did something happen?

 

Kenzie (Sam):

You go and you grab the door and you turn the knob and you go, wait, I gotta go somewhere else in this house. And you let the knob go.

Brennan:




Sawyer will just randomly walk in a direction towards the stairs.

Kenzie (MC):




Yeah, you can go up the stairs. You see - you bump into people making out on the stairs, you bump into people like hanging over - because the stairs are like in the kitchen, so they're hanging over cheers-ing Darren again. And you kind of like make your way up. You see that there's a line to what is probably a bathroom upstairs you come up and you can kind of find a  bedroom that is less populated if that’s what you’re looking for.

 

Ashley (Farrow):




They’ve got like one room back here that’s locked if you just want to go in there.

 

Brennan (Sawyer):

It's locked so we can go –

 

Ashley (Farrow):

Brennan (Sawyer):

So, we have to pick it or it's - we can lock it from the inside?

 

Ashley (Farrow):

Ashley (Farrow):

- earlier and I just had it latched shut.

So, Farrow sort of like had like a jerry-rigged like a little key – cause they were bored the first couple hours here so they were like, I’m going to go play with all the locks in the house.

 

Kenzie (MC):

Ashley:

(lock clicking open sounds) I figured them out. They're very easy. It's like the old stuff. You just need one, it's like 2 tumblers in there or something. It’s ridiculous. But they like bop bop, open it.

 

Ashley (Farrow):




Do you want me to open a window or something? Do you still need some fresh air?

 

Brennan (Sawyer):

No, I'm fine. So, have you experienced anything deadly or dangerous in visions since we have, you know, saved the town?

 

Ashley (Farrow):

Well, Damian did show me his collection of TikTok dances that he wanted to post and that was pretty… that was pretty scarring for my brain. But besides that no, why?

 

Brennan (Sawyer):

I was thinking more like ghostly and ghastly and things of that nature like… well, just now when I went in that slightly catatonic state -

 

Ashley (Farrow):

Uh-huh.

 

Brennan (Sawyer):

I saw well, I saw Sarah’s house I saw Darren and I saw an old Duncan party. I saw an another random ruined house. I saw a bunch of stuff and it was all like - it was happening right there in front of me. And you were there, but you weren't in the visions, you were still just in front of me it was all behind, you know? Has that happened to you?

 

Ashley (Farrow):

No.

 

Brennan (Sawyer):

Cool.

 

Ashley (Farrow):

What? When? Why did that happen? It just like, just randomly?

 

Brennan (Sawyer):

Yeah, yep.

 

Ashley (Farrow):

Okay.

 

Brennan (Sawyer):

I have not taken psychedelics in I think six months.

 

Ashley (Farrow):

Proud of you.

 

Brennan (Sawyer):

So. I'm pretty sure that was a spooky thing, you know? You know what I mean?

 

Ashley (Farrow):

Okay, one sec.

 

Ashley:

And then Farrow pulls out their little like black leather notebook that they keep in on of their pockets and they start going through all their notes on spooky shit of the town to see like where any visions that would be similar to this, that they've like encountered before. Like they've interviewed at this point like the witches and everybody and like other people around. So, they’re trying to find something in their little notebook.

 

Kenzie (MC):

So I would say that nothing in your notes specifically about visions that mirror what Sawyer interacted with, but you and Elias - who is a history teacher at the school, who is a special agent for, you know, Obsidian –

 

Ashley:




He’s my dad! Boogie woogie woogie.

 

Kenzie (MC):




Yes, your surrogate dad.

 

Ashley:




I adopted him.

Kenzie (MC):

 

And you guys have discussed this idea that no one knows what happened once the at the veil totally broke down like it did. And since all four of you defeated the one shadow creature you had been fighting, there hasn't been anything like specific. Like there have been, you know, the same things that have been happening for a long time where, you know, the algae in that lake was glowing, that's still happening. You haven't necessarily been able to completely rid the town of this realization that they saw fiery skulled skeletons walking around that night on Halloween, you know I mean? Like there are some things that have like stuck around but the consensus that you two have come to is that you're just kind of waiting for the next supernatural thing to hit. Because it's going to hit, it has to at this point, you both know that. And you just don't know when or where or what that will be.

 

Ashley:




I think this spooks Farrow enough. Like this is the first like spooky thing that happened and they just remember like being in the house while a bunch of things swarmed it, like at Aunt Sarah’s house and so they sort of like look out the window just to make sure there's no like fiery skeletons charging the gates or whatnot.

 

Kenzie (MC):




Yeah, you look out the window and it is calm night on the Moore property. There is nobody outside of this house.

 

Ashley (Farrow):




All right, well, I mean it's spooky but it didn't sound dangerous.

 

Brennan (Sawyer):




That didn't sound dangerous?

 

Ashley (Farrow):

Okay, well in the sense that like there wasn't a monster in your vision coming at us, it was just like houses you've been in and Darren and like other normal things, you know?

 

Brennan (Sawyer):

Say that again.

 

Ashley (Farrow):

Brennan (Sawyer):

Ashley (Farrow):

As this was all happening, Caleb has realized that in the girls making out, Sam running away, everything that oh my god, my boyfriend. Turns back and doesn't see him scuttling around on the floor anymore. He's like fuck, I leave him for one minute. And he looks at Kai and just says,

Did you see where Sawyer went?

 

Kenzie (Kai):

Um, yeah, they went with Farrow upstairs. Anyways, I'm going to get my girlfriend. So, peace out.

 

Mads (Caleb):

Yeah, if Jordan asks where Sam went tell…

 

Kenzie (Kai):

That he just lost his mind? Yeah I'll do that.

 

Mads (Caleb):

That they needed to poo, yeah.

 

Kenzie (Kai):

Mads (Caleb):

And Caleb's going to like gesture to a back door that has like - it's one of those like kind of farm style houses that has like a back door that has little curtain atop the top of it - the top of it is like where the windows are. Caleb is going to like gesture at the door and then try and pull at like one of the little curtain parts.

 

Mads (Caleb):

No, well, it's just like fresh air.

 

Kenzie (MC):

As you gesture at the door, you realize that Kai’s right. There's no reason that you would need to go outside.

 

Mads (Caleb):

I guess, I guess, it's not you need to go outside like it’s not –

 

Kenzie (Kai):

Yeah, so like stepping outside isn't the best thing to tell Jordan ‘cause like Sam didn’t go outside.

 

Mads (Caleb):

Sam didn’t go outside.

 

Mads:

Caleb’s going to like look around the house now and after mentioning like it's a house on the Moore property and all of them kind of are built the same and all them are kind of in the same kind of state and going outside…and then there's this like in the back of his brain this kind of clawing sensation of you’re inside a cage. You're inside - doesn't it - and then like he can feel his hackles rise a little bit. There is some aspect of like a caged animal almost.

 

Mads (Caleb):

I usually go outside whenever I need…when I need to.

 

Kenzie (MC):

Mads, I would like you to mark just like one little tally, just somewhere so you have it.

 

Mads:




He's gonna kind of shake his head though.

 

Mads (Caleb):

Yeah like it's normal - well I don't know what normal, um, but people tend to not say anything about it anymore.

And shoves the earplugs into his ears.

And then Farrow says… wait what is the room we're in right now? Is it just another bedroom? I know I just I said it was a locked room and I –

Yeah, yeah, yeah, so you went upstairs and you got into a locked room that you found which was another bedroom. It's not like a huge bedroom. It's like just a normal, average sized bedroom. There's a bed in there, there's a couple side tables, or end tables whatever you’d like to call them. There's like one dresser, there's a closet door. There’s a rug on the floor.

 

Ashley:




But Farrow, they're still fine at this point and they say,

So, Darren I was thinking for next semester I might be having to go back –

They're just making small talk as they head back down the stairs.

- I might be heading back to my mom's.

Yeah a hundred percent! There's like – listen, I've got this whole house to myself, there's like two other bedrooms, you might as well just like chill.

And then at this point I think they’ve made it back to the bottom of the stairs.

Yeah, they’ve definitely come down the stairs, again pushing through people on the stairs. Farrow, you see that Alina is on the stairs making out with Callum Banks who weirdly enough, you know, it was one of those things, you know, first kiss, apparently also last kiss, you know

 

Ashley:

Kenzie (MC):

I just meant last as in is happening presently. The last one you've seen. Weird vibes. You know the vibes now from learning about the house family and all that shit and Ivy.

 

Ashley:




Ivy definitely told Farrow who they need to hate. She gave them that break down.

 

Kenzie (MC):

So you see them. As you come down, White Widow notices you and offers you the blunt that she is smoking. Do you take it?

 

Ashley:




No.

 

Kenzie (MC):

Ashley:




Farrow hasn't actually ever done any stuff.

 

Kenzie (MC):

Yeah, no, it's offered but your rebuff doesn't seem offensive. She's like,

Just was a friendly offer. And you guys come back downstairs into the throng of people and you realize that like Caleb, Sawyer, Sam, Jordan, they’ve all kind of wandered off a little bit now.

Oh well, I'm going to mingle then. Thanks for the earplug though.

 

Kenzie (Darren):

Oh, yeah, please, okay, but I do want to say, we gotta get everyone together at midnight. We're gonna do some great toasts, okay? So like just make sure you're ready, back here, in the kitche. You, Ivy, Sawyer, Caleb, all of you guys back here in the kitchen.

 

Ashley (Farrow):

Yeah, sure, I’ll let ‘em now. We go what, like an hour?

 

Kenzie (Darren):

More like 45 minutes now but yeah, yeah, 100%.

 

Ashley (Farrow):

Got you.

 

Kenzie (Darren):

Enjoy! Enjoy the party!

 

Kenzie (MC):




And he’s just got a huge smile on his face, he seems so happy, he's just like wanting you to enjoy the party that he's thrown, which is how Darren is always at his parties. It's for everybody else than himself. He just - he loves other people coming here and having a good time.

 

Ashley:




Ashley hates this. Farrow’s having a great time. They do clock Sawyer in a corner and they’re like okay, I'm going to go over my brother and they’ll see it - they'll try to get Ivy's attention because Ivy tends to be really good at handling Sawyer when he's having a meltdown, so they’re just going to try to like wave at her as they reach Sawyer.

 

Brennan:




Sawyer, as soon as you clock him in the corner, he was looking around and he dives behind a couch.

And as you start to look around this place, you see these people still, but they're not in as clear quality as they were. Doesn't mean they're not real, they just kind of like aren't the main focus here. Because the main focus is the fact you start to feel cold, you start to feel a wind blowing on, you start to realize that where you are looking, towards where Sawyer, Caleb, and Farrow have kind of grouped up, are old, old wooden boards of a house. The light has disappeared. You see that the windows don't actually exist anymore, they're just holes in the wall, there are cracks between the boards that are letting this cold air in, this is December almost January air, into this space. You look to your – I guess that was your right - so you look to your left, and you see that the people on the staircase are all hugging one side because coming down the stairwell are just old boards that like halfway through look like they've been eaten through by termites. So, like half of the stairwell isn't actually there anymore, and these people are curved around the staircase like they're just trying to find a place to stand. And the room stops feeling like a party, stops feeling warm. You now know that the wind is real, the breeze that you're feeling, the coldness that you're feeling which Ivy doesn't necessarily like feel cold in the sense that like she's cold, but you can feel the change in temperature and you can feel that there is wind coming through boards of a house that are not connected any longer.

 

And Kai is still holding your face as you kind of come back to her.

Both Farrow and Caleb, you take one more little tack, one more little mark here.

Kenzie (MC):

And so you - doubt begins to creep into your body. And you start to notice that the floorboards under your feet have a little bit of buoyancy, they’re not as sturdy. And like, you kind of move your feet a little bit and you can hear one snap. And as you look up, I feel like you might make eye contact with Ivy, and you guys have been friends for long enough is there maybe, some sort of message that gets across in this moment of eye contact.

It’s like the magical friends.

 

Mads:




There is – like the kinship that we have with each other is one that you would have with like a sibling essentially. Like you know all my little fucking tells and you know how to get under my skin, and you know whatever I want to peel my skin off. There is something in my eyes that conveys to you, it is again, it is like a feral animal. There is a franticness to like the eye contact that I make with you.

Honestly I'm not really sure. All I know is that I don’t fucking know Darren! But like, I do. Like I remember knowing him. Like whenever I think about him in the past I can like see him there, but like, guys, we don’t know him.

 

Mads (Caleb):

Farrow, you said that Darren is like cousin, but my Aunt Sarah never had kids. And my mom was an only child, she doesn't have siblings. I can't have cousins.

 

Ashley (Farrow):

Ashley:

And then Farrow just looks to Sawyer like,

We're humans, is this something that we need to really dig in? Or do we let our supernatural friends like take the lead, ‘cause now I'm getting creeped out.

 

Brennan (Sawyer):

Kenzie (MC):




I will say that I think that you are close enough with these other individuals and are friends enough then that their concern begins to seep into you as well. And while you can't shake the feeling that like you really know Darren, you understand that their fear and their concern is very very real.

 

Ashley:




I literally fought demons with these people. Like I if their intuition is telling them something's off, I'm going to trust their instincts over mine because I'm not a fucking idiot and I have a high survival drive. Like (laughs) I'm gonna take - so Beauregard, my rat, has his little harness on. I'm just gonna take his leash and clip it on him so he stays attached to me. ‘Cause that's –

 

Mads:

As you're all discussing this, you hear,

 

Kenzie (Darren):

Friends! Friends! What's happening? What’s going on? How's everybody feeling about the party right now?

 

Ashley (Farrow):

Brennan (Sawyer):

Kenzie (MC):

You see Darren with a very non-friendly face on. The face is moving into a realm of not being human.

 

Ashley:




Definitely feeling sick now.

 

Kenzie (MC):

How are we doing? We having a good time?

 

Mads:

I’m gonna start to move out from behind the couch because I'm assuming at some point we've probably uncrushed ourselves now that Ivy’s over here too. I am going to forcibly - I'm going to grab Sawyer and I'm going to move him behind me.

 

Kenzie (Darren):

It's only a couple minutes until midnight are you guys all excited? Ready to celebrate?

 

Mads (Caleb):




Ready to celebrate something?

 

Brennan (Sawyer):




Yeah.

 

Kenzie (Darren):

Do we want one more shot to ring out the evening?

 

April (Ivy):

Not necessary, Darren, but thank you.

 

Kenzie (MC):

You watch as in his smile, you see that teeth start to elongate. All of them.

 

Brennan (Sawyer):

Ashley:

Farrow’s just gonna bolt for the door. (laughs) They're just literally just running at the door. Fuck this.

 

Kenzie (MC):

Ashley:

Ashley (Farrow):

Kenzie (Darren):

We're friends! This is what we're meant to do! We need to celebrate new things.

 

Ashley (Farrow):

Ivy! Ivy! You got to get the little – you’ve got the teeth. Get, you, with the teeth.

 

Kenzie (MC):

You hear… there's not a TV in this house which is what you all start to notice, specifically Ivy who can like hear it out, you haven't heard a television, but over like whatever speaker has been playing, you can start to hear the programming of like you know, in like 5 minutes we'll start the countdown or type of thing, you know?

 

April:




Ivy's eyes go wide and she kind of like looks around the house, which obviously like still looks very different to her.

 

Kenzie (MC):

I would say, yeah, I would say you're seeing almost in double vision right now, where you see the house as you've seen it since you came here, with all these people. And you also see a house that was abandoned and rundown right behind this visage of a normal place. And Darren says,

 

Kenzie (Darren):

What are you all doing!? We have to celebrate! The New Year, it’s upon us! Sawyer, I know you know –

 

Mads (Caleb):

Don't speak to him.

 

Kenzie (Darren):

- it’s time for new beginnings! Caleb, we have to move on.

 

Mads (Caleb):




I said, don't speak to him.

 

Ashley:

Oh, you’ve done it now.

 

Kenzie (MC):




His neck moves in a way that is almost like breaking a bone in it.

 

Mads (Caleb):




Oh, that's cute. What's wrong, Darren?

 

Kenzie (Darren):

You all were so easy, what happened?

 

Mads (Caleb):




Easy to fool, easy to trick? Why did you bring us here? And be straightforward with it.

 

Kenzie (Darren):

Because we're friends and I just wanted to be one of you.

April (Ivy):




Well, you’re not.

 

Mads (Caleb):

And what are you then? If you're not one of us.

 

Kenzie (Darren):

Oh! Hitting a nerve there Caleb. I don't know but I would like to find out.

 

Brennan (Sawyer):




Hey, Ivy, starting to think we don't actually know this guy.

I will say that at this point, to Sawyer, his understanding has become as credible as the rest and can figure out that maybe Darren is not his best friend.

 

April (Ivy):




Yeah, Sawyer, no shit.

 

Kenzie (Darren):

April (Ivy):




First of all, ewww.

 

Brennan (Sawyer):

April (Ivy):

Second of all, we outnumber you easily.

 

Kenzie (Darren):

And we're actually friends.

 

Kenzie (Darren):

Well, what if I say you don't anymore?

 

Kenzie (MC):

And he reaches out his hands and you watch everybody in this house turn their eyes towards you.

 

Ashley:




While this is happening can Farrow have their back to the front door and just be desperately trying to pick the lock from behind their back.

 

Kenzie (MC):

I mean you can try but that's not an easy task when you're not looking at it.

 

Ashley:

Fair. They're just panicking and trying to get out.

 

Kenzie (MC):

All right you're trying to pick the door. You've seen Darren turn all of these people in this house against you. And Kai says,

 

Kenzie (Kai):

All right, well, I mean, if we look back at like the track record we've all had, this kind of makes sense.

 

Mads (Caleb):




Doesn't make it any easier.

 

Kenzie (MC):

You all now, even Farrow who though is still preoccupied with trying to unpick a lock behind, are now faced with Darren and an entire house of party goers, some which you know, most of which you know.

 

Ashley (Farrow):




Sawyer, think fast.

 

Brennan (Sawyer):




Yeah!

 

Ashley:

And Farrow is going to toss you their spare butterfly knife.

 

Brennan:




Oh god I’m gonna try to catch it.

 

Kenzie (MC):

(laughs) God, I mean there's - I can't make you roll for that. You catch it.

 

Brennan:




Okay, alright.

 

April:




Sawyer’s like whoo.

 

Kenzie (MC):

Thank God.

 

Brennan:




Sawyer’s just flipping it the fuck around until it finally clicks.

 

Ashley (Farrow):

Don't be fancy! You don't know how to do it yet! Just open it - just open it.

 

Brennan (Sawyer):

Brennan:




Peels it open on either side.

Ashley (Farrow):

I think Ivy fights him. I think Ivy just goes for it.

 

Kenzie (MC):




Ivy what are you - like how are you attacking?

 

April:




I want to like almost like stun him. Like hit him really hard like on his temple.

 

Kenzie (MC):

Great, so I'm going to have you roll Lash Out Physically which is 2d6 plus volatile. And Caleb what are you doing?

 

Mads:

(laughs) Whenever Sawyer gets the butterfly knife and says, “Am I supposed to stab someone?” I say,

 

Mads (Caleb):


Please don't hurt yourself.

 

Ashley:




(laughs) Not again.

 

April:

 

I got a seven.

 

Mads:




Let's see what this does and then react.

 

Kenzie (MC):

You do harm them but they get a gain a string. They can get one harm on you for free if they want to, or you become your Darkest Self.

 

April:




Oh they can you gain a harm, I think.

 

Kenzie (MC):

So, please describe to me exactly how you attack this individual.

 

April:




Throughout this whole confrontation, Ivy has like kind of slowly made her way off of the couch and stood up to her full height and as Farrow throws this knife to Sawyer, Darren like instinctively looks towards it and in that moment of distraction, Ivy darts forward faster than a human can even see, and with her closed fist, with her rings, like smashes into his temple like right by his eyebrow.

 

Kenzie (MC):

And as you do so, you watch this individual - when you hit him he was solid, 100%. But after you hit him, you watch as his features begin to like melt almost is the best way to describe it.

 

I mean Farrow, you're still working at the door here. Sawyer, you have the butterfly knife. Caleb you're egging on your boy here. What's going on?

 

Mads (Caleb):




Please don’t hurt yourself.

 

Brennan (Sawyer):




I’ve used a knife before.

 

Brennan:




And I'm gonna grab a like a couch - is the couch like sectioned off and so there's like, you know, cushions?

 

Kenzie (MC):

The couch is whatever you want it to be yeah.

 

Brennan:




So there's cushions on this couch! And I grab it and I put it up as a shield and I just start to run forward into the crowd and say,

 

Brennan (Sawyer):

I’ll hold them off!

 

Brennan:

And just start pushing against people.

 

Kenzie (MC):

Yeah, the crowd begins to move forward and you're like holding them off into the kitchen. This figure starting to melt. Caleb, do you want to do anything specifically?

 

Mads:




I'm going to… ugh… look at Sawyer trying to fend off all these people. I see that Ivy has gotten a really good shot in though. If you can take off the head, you can kill it. So I'm going to rush at this Darren, this creature, this thing, whatever he's becoming right now, this Darren? I'm going to see if I can full body tackle him and bring him down to the ground.

 

Kenzie (MC):

Make me a Lash Out Physically.

 

Mads:




Yay!

 

Kenzie (MC):

So 2d6 plus your volatile

 

April:

What is he? What do you all know that I don't know?

 

Ashley:

As Sawyer like charges into the humans, Farrow’s just like,

 

Ashley (Farrow):




Fuck, I meant for you to defend yourself! What the fuck are you doing? Why are you charging in1? We do not charge in!

 

Brennan (Sawyer):

Ahhhhh!

 

Kenzie (MC):

Farrow, I would say as all this happens and you try to unlock the door you realize that it's not that the door is locked, it’s that Darren is keeping the door locked.

 

Ashley:

Shit.

 

Kenzie (MC):

So, there's not going to be a way to unlock this until you can get him to unlock it or gain control over him, which you see your friends trying to do.

 

Ashley:

Okay, I am going to charge towards Sawyer and keep people off of his back vis a vis, the last time we were in a battle together. I'm just focusing on people not getting him. He could do whatever he wants, I'm going to make sure no one gets him.

 

Kenzie (MC):

Great, so Ivy throws a really good punch. You watch as Darren like backslaps you but it's like his hand isn't real and it's now just this like almost like force of energy that hits you and sends you flying. So Ivy takes one harm. And then Caleb kind of darts in here and so you rolled a nine, right?

 

Mads:

Nine.

 

Kenzie (MC):

You harm them but they gain once you're on you and they can deal with you one harm, or they can you can become your Darkest Self.

 

Mads:




Whoo, um, they can take one harm on me.

 

Kenzie (MC):

How do you come in for this attack?

 

Mads:

Whenever Ivy gets like throw across the room in front of me, I take that as my opening. I'm going to kind of hone all of my senses in and like look for a little weak spot. You know whenever you play a Fallout game and it like slows everything down, and it like does tick tick tick tick tick tick tick tick tick, like all the little like percentile hits? I go for that highest mark.

 

Kenzie (MC):

The weird thing about this is as you come in, it doesn't necessarily fold to a particular physical moment. You get into Darren's mind almost. And you realize that this thing, whatever Darren is, is after knowledge and is after people wanting to know him. And if you don't, if you do not acknowledge this individual, you can get rid of it.

 

Mads:

Amazing. Whenever I tackle him, I take him down to the ground with enough force that his head smacks against the back floor like paneling to kind of like give him stars in his eyes for a moment, so that whenever I lean down next to him and growl into his ear,

 

Mads (Caleb):




Want to be a part of us? One of us? (laughs) The three families of Wildmoore get in line, buddy.

 

Mads:

And then I'm going to shove at his shoulders one more time and stand up and kind of brush off my shirt.

 

Kenzie (MC):

You can feel his body begins to melt even further and you definitely take one harm because like it's almost like acid against where you're holding him and like it sears you as even just like the smoke of this acid comes up and you breathe it in. But you watch Darren melt away and all of you come to this, open your eyes if you haven't already, to this realization that you never knew Darren, Darren was not a friend of yours. Darren was something that came through the veil. Had to have been. And as you step up and you look around this space, the house around you is in disrepair. The lights have gone out. Everybody in the house, you can see like through the front holes and the windows, are walking away from the house. Like they - it's almost like they automatically were dispersed. There are holes in the walls, the wind whistling through the broken slats of wood which Ivy noticed before. Wires now hanging out of empty ceiling lights, the stairs from the first floor to the second floor missing a couple of steps. The banister almost completely falling to ruin. Grime and dirt and animal droppings cover every surface. And you, the four of you, and Kai, are the only ones left in the house right now. But again, out the front windows, you can see like the masses walking away from the house like they were just dispelled from it immediately.

 

Brennan (Sawyer):




This fucking town.

 

Mads:




Caleb’s going to say out loud to everyone kind of doing his best to not look at and ignore this heap of Darren on the floor,

 

Kenzie (MC):

It's a black ooze.

 

Mads (Caleb):

You ever hear that weird thing that if you have a memory of something it helps to keep it alive? Whatever that is, it's thriving on that aspect. If we don't acknowledge it, it stops existing it. It wants in so we know that it's there.

 

April:




I go up to Caleb and I put a hand on his shoulder, sensing that his inclination towards his monstrous form has abated a bit and give him a little shoulder squeeze and I say,

 

April (Ivy):

Forget about what?

 

April:




With a grin and then I look around at my friends and I say,

 

April (Ivy):




I do have a way to help with that if anyone wants to try.

 

Mads (Caleb):




Well, if Ivy Duncan has a plan, who are we to say no?

 

Kenzie (MC):

I will say if you guys submit to it, I won't even have April roll for Hypnosi, it will just happen.

 

Brennan (Sawyer):

Farrow take your knife back.

 

Ashley:

Farrow takes their knife and they click it closed.

 

Brennan (Sawyer):

Oh, that was so cool.

 

Kenzie (MC):

But that will mean that none of you will like going forward, none of you will remember this happened at all.

 

April:




But I will.

 

Kenzie (MC):

But Ivy will, yes.

 

Mads:




Do we know that? Like that Ivy will be the only one that has to bear this burden?

 

Kenzie (MC):

I guess that would be something Ivy would have to disclose because I don't think she has hypnotized any of you, so you would have to ask those questions.

 

Mads:

We know enough that Ivy can hypnotize but we don't know further than that.

 

Ashley:

And I don't think Farrow has ever experienced or heard of Ivy’s hypnosis, so Farrow has no fucking clue what you're talking about.

 

Kenzie (MC):

I don’t think so either.

 

Mads:




There's a chance maybe when we were kids I did this without realizing that she was doing it too- So that's I feel like that's how Sawyer and Caleb at least would like know kind of how it works. So Caleb is going to cover his hand over top of Ivy’s that's on his shoulder and like give it a little squeeze back. And you can sense too that that monstrous urge, ever since everything that happened and shit hit the fan in Wildmoore, he's had a much better handle on this.

 

Mads (Caleb):

When you do that do you still remember it?

 

April (Ivy):




Yeah, I do. It’s the vampire burden, I guess. Long memory.

 

Mads (Caleb):

And there's no other way?

 

April (Ivy):

Unless you're going to forget tonight anytime soon, probably not.

 

Mads:




I'm gonna look to Kai.

 

Mads (Caleb):

There’s nothing you can do to restrain this? Hold it back somehow? Magic powers or something?

 

Kenzie (Kai):




Not that I know of. You either forget or you remember. And anything I know of, its one or the other. So it’s up to you.

 

Mads:




Caleb’s going to take Ivy's hand off of his shoulder but continue holding it in his hand, put his other hand over top of it.

 

Mads (Caleb):




With everything that happened with… Adam. You took that on. Pretended it is okay and then it took you over. I’m not going to agree to making this your burden too.

 

April (Ivy):

I would never do it if you didn’t want me to. But, just know, anything you wanna forget… I’m here.

Farrow has always been very nervous around Ivy. They've warmed up to her at this point but like, every time there's a new weird vampire thing that pops up, they’re still just kind of like… mmmm. But in this scenario, specifically, they look at Ivy and they go,

 

Ashley (Farrow):

That's good to know you can do that, but it's my job to document and make sure we know how to defeat these things if and when they come up.

 

Ashley:




And they kind of glance at Kai kind of like, I’m on like the mundane side of her job at this point is what I've taken on.

 

Kenzie (MC):




And you can document this and take this all in for Obsidian, yeah.

 

Ashley:




Knowledge is power and I'd rather not be caught unawares by this again.

 

Kenzie (MC):




Kai kind of like, doesn't touch you but almost like looks like she will and then like stops and says,

April (Ivy):




Well, I obviously respect all of your decisions, unfortunately I think that means we've done most of what we can do tonight to fight this.

Wait! I kind of have an idea. We can't make ourselves forget what happened but the night is still young, maybe we can kind of remember something else.

I think the night is like - 30 seconds until it's over type of situation. Is that young?

 

Mads (Caleb):

Well, let's not spend it inside this creepy house.

 

Brennan (Sawyer):

And Ivy like grabs as many body parts as she can from her friends and drags them out of the house. Does the doo -?

 

Kenzie (MC):

So, the door opens this time.

 

Ashley:




Falls off hinges.

 

Kenzie (MC):

This is definitely now that you’ve all come to this conclusion, a house in the Moore property but one that hasn't been used in years be a century. Forgotten, abandoned. A house belonging to Harold and Francis Moore, the names only known by those in the Moore family who choose to keep their history alive. And you can walk out this actually what you see is, it doesn't need to be unlocked, the front door of this house is absolutely broken open. And you push through it to a starry night sky. People still kind of scattering around, a little dazed from drinks and drugs and the first blooming of the new magic that has seeped into Wildmoore now and cracked past the veil, as you walk and push away out of this house.

 

Mads (Caleb):

I mean I’ve got an idea if uh… as the representative Moore here, this house hasn't seen much use in a long time. I don't think anyone would miss it if…

 

Brennan (Sawyer):

Oh yeah.

 

Mads (Caleb):

- crazy teens –

 

Ashley (Farrow):




Arson? Arson!?

 

Brennan (Sawyer):

Bonfire. Bonfire!

 

Mads (Caleb):

April (Ivy):

Ashley (Farrow):

You all run away as Sawyer and Farrow get these fireworks going. And you see just lighting up the yard in the back of the Moore property, these beautiful display of lights and fireworks in front of this house that has not really seen people for a very, very long time. And as you all stand there, I assume Caleb and Sawyer close together, Ivy and Kai close together, and Farrow, standing not too far apart.

 

Ashley:




I’ve got Beauregard.

 

Kenzie (MC):

Yeah, you’ve got Beauregard!

 

Mads:




You’ve got a little guy.

 

Ashley:

April:

Kenzie (MC):

At midnight, Caleb and Sawyer kiss –

 

Mads:

I give him a big ole kiss.

 

Kenzie (MC):

- and Kai and Ivy kiss, of course.

 

Ashley:




Beauregard gets a little kiss on his little rat head. Just go muah! My little guy.

 

Mads:




Whenever I give Sawyer a kiss I like grab his face and give him a big kiss and then I pull back just enough to rest my forehead against his and say,

 

Mads (Caleb):

Can we try not to do the sandals and socks though again? Can that be something that just kind of dies here too.

 

Brennan (Sawyer):

Yeah, it'll die here.

 

Mads (Caleb):

Just leave it. Okay, you promise?

 

Brennan (Sawyer):

You know what?

 

Brennan:




And I’ll just flick them off.

 

Brennan (Sawyer):

Oh, it's damp. It’d damp on the ground.

 

Mads (Caleb):




Got the grippers out! Got the grippers out!

 

Ashley:




Put those grippers away!

 

Brennan (Sawyer):




Yeah.

 

Mads (Caleb):

Put those grippers away!

 

Brennan (Sawyer):

I’m gonna go those. I won’t wear them anymore though.

 

Mads (Caleb):

Maybe just wear the sandals or just the socks. Actually just the sandals, we're in the woods right now.

 

Mads:




Caleb is rattling off as he follows after him.

 

Kenzie (MC):




I think that Kai does a very periphery little peck to Ivy at the new year and pulls away very swiftly.

 

April:




And then Ivy like raises her eyebrow and then is like,

                                                                                                               

April (Ivy):

Is that really how we're going to welcome in the year? With a chicken shit kiss?  

Kenzie (Kai):




I just like –

 

April (Ivy):




Don't say anything. 

Kenzie (Kai):




What do you want me to do?

April (Ivy):

April:




And then Ivy makes out with her deeply.

 

Everyone:

(laughs)

 

Kenzie (MC):




Beautiful and Farrow gives Beauregard a little smooch on the forehead.

 

Ashley (Farrow):




Maybe one of these days I’ll find you a lady rat. One of these days.

 

April:

Mads:




Or a boy rat.

Ashley:




I really don't know what Beauregards sex is. He’s a rat, its hard to tell. He just has dude vibes.

 

Brennan:
